Manchester City are set to sign Samir Nasri. Chelsea are now in the chase for Arsenal target Juan Mata. Marseille say they are open to Mathieu Valbuena talks with Arsenal.
According to BBC and other sources, Manchester City are very close to signing Samir Nasri. Reports say that a deal could become official in the next 24 hours. Sources say that the deal would be worth £25m.
Manchester City will have to pay a high price for the Arsenal star. Nasri has had only one great season in England, and he looks to cash in on that success. City are willing the pay Nasri a much higher wage, and Arsenal must use the transfer fee to strengthen their team before the end of the month.
Nasri called Arsenal fans “disrespectful,” before causing a social media controversy. Needless to say, we, Gooners, will be happy to see this cash pig leave the Emirates and drink the oil leaking out of Manchester.
According to The Guardian and other sources, Chelsea have joined the hunt for Valencia winger Juan Mata. Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham are rumoured to be after the 23-year old Spainish star.
According to Daily Mail, Chelsea had a £22m bid rejected by Valencia. Valencia may be determined to hang on to their star. Or maybe Chelsea will just have to hand over a few million more.
The time is running out on Arsene Wenger. If he sells Nasri, he needs enough time to sign a replacement. With Chelsea chasing Mata, Wenger’s options may be running [...]
With the probable departures of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, Arsene Wenger will look to strengthen his squad with the incoming cash. Arsenal are set to sign Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Jadson. Wenger is still after Valencia winger Juan Mata. Arsenal are negotiating for Birmingham City defender Scott Dann.
According to The Independent, Arsenal have signed Brazilian attacking midfielder Jadson to take over for the departing Fabregas. Wenger will have to pay a fee of £12m for the Shakhtar Donetsk star. The move is not yet official.
Jadson is a 27-year old Brazilian international who can play in the same role as Cesc Fabregas, attacking central midfielder. He has played for Shakhtar since 2005, and helped them capture the 2008-2009 UEFA Cup by scoring the winning goal in extra time.
Jadson has recently been featured with Brazil in the Copa America. He has four caps overall, and scored a goal in the Copa America against Paraguay.
The Brazilian has been a key player for Shakhtar, scoring 32 goals in 162 matches in all competitions.
According to The Telegraph, Arsene Wenger is ready to go on a spending spree of £30m for two players. Arsenal hope to secure Valencia’s Juan Mata along with Jadson. Mata has been linked with Arsenal in the past, but the Gunners have failed to sign him thus far.
Wenger may have a hard time prying Mata away from Valencia. Once Mata’s release clause of £18m expired, Valencia raised the 23-year old’s price. The clause skyrocketed up to £52m. No [...]
Karim Benzema denied any contact with Arsenal. Valencia’s manager believes that Juan Mata will stay with the club. Arsenal is close to signing Jose Rodriguez from Real Madrid.
Karim Benzema told L’Equipe that he is focused on Real Madrid, not the Gunners: “My place is at this club. I have never talked to Mr Wenger or anyone else.
“I want to enjoy success here. I have found my self-belief. This season, I know we will win titles.”
The Benzema-to-Arsenal rumours will persist, but there is no real prove besides the fact that both Wenger and Benzema are French. Wenger already signed his striker (Gervinho), and he will not pay a fortune for Benzema. The French international striker is quite a player, but he won’t be a Gunner.
Valencia are now more confident than ever that Arsenal target Juan Mata will stay. Valencia boss Unai Emery told TalkSport: “Mata has gone through a process of doubts about his future but now we all believe he will stay at Valencia.”
Arsene Wenger’s dilly-dallying may have cost him another very talented player. Mata’s buyout clause expired last Sunday, and Wenger may now have to pay much more to pry the 23-year old winger away from Valencia.
Of course, Emery could just be playing to the supporters. Arsene Wenger speaks confidently about Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, despite their unsettled situations. Managers believe every player will stay at the club until the day they are sold.
According to Daily Mail, Arsenal are set to sign the young Jose Rodriguez away from the [...]
Arsenal have been turned down by Valencia on an offer for winger Juan Mata. Arsene Wenger may have to pay much more for Mata now that his buyout clause has expired.
The father of Juan Mata revealed yesterday that Valencia had rejected an opening bid from Arsenal (told to calciomercato): “Valencia simply rejected their offer. After some hesitation they answered ‘no’ to the Gunners’ offer.
“So my son remains a Valencia player, for now. But I don’t think it’s their last offer.
“There are several offers for Mata and I think that Arsenal will come forward again. The situation is still evolving.
“Are Inter Milan one of the interested teams? I know my son holds Milan in high esteem. We’ll see if Inter will come forward directly.”
According to various sources, Valencia have raised the asking price for the 23-year old star. Mata had a buyout clause in his contract of £22m but that clause expired on Sunday. This means that Valecnia has more leverage to hold on to their star winger.
What will Arsene Wenger do? Mata’s father believes he will stay persistent in his pursuit of the Valencia winger, but that does not seem like Wenger. Valencia may ask for much more than Arsenal ever expected and this may price out both Arsenal and Spurs, who are also interested in Mata.
Sources say that the most likely scenerio sees Mata staying at Valencia. Wenger may have to look elsewhere to replace Cesc and/or Nasri.
Jack Wilshere said that Arsenal need to add some fresh faces to the squad in order to win silverware. Wilshere also commented on Valencia winger Juan Mata.
Jack Wilshere told Daily Mail: “We are not a spending club but we still managed to stay up there with the top teams. And we have to win things this year.
“Maybe if we had a few more faces we could really push on. If we get a few more players we can really challenge for the title. Around March and April we have to stay really strong. We are confident we can be up and around it then so we have to remain strong at that crucial time.”
Wilshere talked about Juan Mata to Goal.com: “He is a top quality player, we’ve seen that in the Under-21s and in the Spanish league last season. I think the way Arsenal play would suit his game.”
Jack is the future of Arsenal Football Club, and Wenger needs to reassure the English phenom by signing more impact players this summer. Henry left the club when he was 28-years old, and now Cesc and Nasri may leave Arsenal at the prime age of 24. How long will it take for Wilshere to escape the Emirates?
The difference between Wilshere and the other aforementioned footballers is that Wilshere is English and was developed in the Arsenal academy. Being an Englishman, Wilshere will likely never play outside of the Premiership. As an graduate of the Arsenal academy, Jack has more loyalty to [...]
Reports say that Juan Mata is not interested in moving to White Hart Lane. The Valencia winger would rather move to Arsenal. Arsene Wenger “likes” Mata but has not yet made an official bid.
According to Goal.com, sources close to Mata say that he would snub a transfer to Tottenham. Mata would rather stay at Valencia or move to Arsenal. He is not interested in a move to Spurs despite interest from Harry Redknapp.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp recently confirmed Tottenham’s interest in the 23-year old Spanish star. Redknapp is willing to pay £19m for Mata.
Why would Mata want to move to White Hart Lane? Valencia finished third in last season’s La Liga, only behind powerhouses Madrid and Barcelona. Valencia are automatically qualified for the Champions League. Mata is not interested in wasting his talents at Spurs.
Tottenham cannot lure the talented Spanish winger from his current home. Spurs will be competing in the Europa League next season. A player of Mata’s quality demands Champions League play. Valencia have also won more recent silverware than Spurs. And Harry Redknapp’s squad will not even compete for the Premier League title this season.
Okay, time to end the anti-spurs rant. So what does this mean for Arsenal? It means that Wenger will not have to worry about Redknapp stealing his player away. Mata is happy to wait for a potential Arsenal offer.
Arsene wants to get the Nasri and Fabregas situations sorted before he moves for Mata. If Fabregas or Nasri leaves, expect Mata’s signing [...]
Tottenham have submitted a offer for Arsenal target Juan Mata, in an attempt to keep him away from the Emirates. Arsenal are launching a new and improved bid for Everton’s Phil Jagielka. Despite reports, Joel Campbell has not agreed to a move to Arsenal.
According to The Guardian, Spurs have submitted a £22m bid for Valencia winger Juan Mata. Mata has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, but this Tottenham effort could sway Valencia and Mata towards White Hart Lane.
Arsene Wenger has not yet made a formal offer for the 23-year old Spanish star. The boss seems to be waiting on the Cesc Fabregas saga to make a decision. £22m is more than what Arsenal are expected to offer, but Mata would prefer a move to the Gunners where he can compete in the Champions League.
Mata’s contract says that Valencia must sell him to any club that offers more than €21m. Tottenham’s offer exceeds that amount, so the decision will be Mata’s. Will he decide to wait on Arsenal or head to Spurs?
Some media outlets are reporting that Arsene Wenger is considering signing Juan Mata and Phil Jagielka in a terrific double swoop.
According to Daily Mail and other sources, the Gunners are ready to make a fresh offer for the Eveton centre-back. Wenger is willing to pay £15m for Jagielka but will try to secure the England international for £12m first according to Goal.com. David Moyes is likely to reject this bid, just as he rejected [...]
Arsenal are close to signing Valencia winger Juan Mata for £17.5 million. If Arsene Wenger secures Mata, then he will likely sell Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona shortly thereafter.
Plenty of Arsenal speculation was bounced around the Internet last night. According to many reports, Arsenal are set to sign Juan Mata away from Valencia. Arsene Wenger is willing to meet Mata’s release clause of £17.5m.
Juan Mata played on the wing frequently for Valencia, but he has shown that he can be effective in the centre of the pitch. Mata can be the perfect replacement for Cesc Fabregas and/or Samir Nasi. Wenger just needs to shift his formation to a 4-4-2, playing Wilshere and Song in the middle, Walcott and Mata on the wing, and Gervinho and RVP up top.
Of course, this is not a confirmed deal just yet, but it may be finialised by the end of the week. According to Daily Mail, the acquisition of Mata will mean the departure of Cesc Fabregas. The Spanish captain is not in Wenger’s plans for the upcoming Emirates Cup.
Arsene Wenger can take two bold steps with this maneuver. First, he makes an audacious purchase of Mata, which is sure to strengthen the belief of the players and supporters. Secondly, Wenger gets rid of the biggest distraction in football, Cesc Fabregas.
One worry I have about Mata is that he might be using Arsenal as a stepping stone to Real Madrid. Mata spent four years with Madrid but never made it to the big club. Will he turn on Arsenal in [...]
Barcelona are still determined to sign Cesc Fabregas by the end of the summer. Arsenal have reportedly lost out on Santi Cazorla and Juan Mata. Arsene Wenger has made an inquiry about Wigan midfielder James McCarthy.
Barcelona vice president Josep Maria Bartomeu is sure that Cesc Fabregas join Barcelona this summer: “They [the talks] are going in the right direction. We will try and do what we can with the money we have.
“We have until August 30 to do things and I am sure we will.”
Barcelona does not have until August 30th. According to reports, Wenger wants a deal done this week or no deal at all. Arsene wants the time to search for an adequate replacement for Fabregas. Not only that, Wenger will be tough in negotiations and not lower the asking price.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal have lost out on Santi Cazorla and Juan Mata. Villareal will reportedly sell Cazorla for £18m to Malaga. Valencia have declared that Mata is not for sale.
Let’s start with Cazorla. Some have called him a direct replacement for Cesc Fabregas, but it now appears that Malaga have beaten the Gunners to him. This has been a recurring theme with Arsene Wenger: Express interest in a player, but do not pay full price. Barcelona are doing exactly the same thing with Cesc Fabregas.
Valencia president Manuel Llorente bluntly said this to Superdeporte: “The decision is clear and money will not change our position. Valencia will not sell to any [...]
Cesc Fabregas will reportedly miss the upcoming pre-season match in Germany as he awaits for a dream move to Barcelona. Everton have turned down an Arsenal offer for Phil Jagielka. Valencia will consider offers for Juan Mata, but the Spanish star says he is happy at Valencia.
According to Daily Mail, Cesc Fabregas will miss the match tomorrow against FC Cologne. Wenger previously stated he expected Cesc to be available for the match, but it appears the Spaniard will have to stay home. Fabregas wants to complete his move to Barcelona as soon as possible.
Remember when Wenger called Xavi “disrespectful.” Well, the Barcelona midfield general responded yesterday: “I’m sorry. My intention was not to offend Arsenal and Wenger. We know Cesc has this desire to come and I said that he was suffering. But I don’t want to offend either Wenger or Arsenal.
“I was only looking out for the interests of Cesc and Barca. The controversy seems absurd to me – I don’t want to get into a war of words with Wenger.”
A half-hearted apology does nothing to cool my utter disdain for Barca’s tactics. Their recruitment of Cesc has been inappropriate and pathetic. Crying out for attention in the media all the time. Good thing Fabregas has some decency and has not demanded a move despite these Camp Nou hyenas.
According to widespread reports that were originated by Daily Mail, Everton have rejected an Arsenal bid for Phil Jagielka. Wenger offered around £12m for the [...]
